DTI, PCEDO train Tarlac MSME exporters

TARLAC CITY (PIA) -- Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and Provincial Cooperative and Enterprise Development Office (PCEDO) trained existing and potential Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) exporters in Tarlac.

The Seminar on “How to Negotiate with Foreign Buyers” aims to capacitate existing and potential MSME exporters that would enable them to negotiate with different types of foreign buyers like importers, distributors, retailers, and online wholesalers.

DTI OIC-Provincial Director Zaida Garibay said one of the targets of the province is to increase the presence of Tarlac products in the international market.

“We join efforts with the provincial government, other government agencies, and partner private organizations to capacitate more the existing exporters as well as to develop and prepare the promising MSMEs with the potential of becoming exporters,” Garibay added.

Morexport-Food Philippines Inc. President Annielane Moreno, who served as the resource speaker, focused her discussion on the export enablers, export presentation materials, export quotations, types of negotiation, and negotiation strategies.

Last February, a total of 10 Tarlac MSMEs engaged in furniture and crafts participated in the Ambiente Trade Show in Frankfurt, Germany to showcase their products in the international market.

They gained about 152 buyers, and gained booked orders and negotiated sales during the trade show. (CLJD/GLSB-PIA 3)
