Over 72k jobs for Filipinos on Independence Day

QUEZON CITY (PIA) – Over 72,000 job opportunities are up for grabs as the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is set to roll out various fairs in celebration of the 125th Independence Day.

According to DOLE-Bureau of Labor and Employment, these job vacancies will be offered in 48 job fair sites across the country, where 889 employers are expected to participate.

Majority of these vacancies will come from business process outsourcing, manufacturing, retail and sales, construction, and financial and insurance activities.

Meanwhile, the top job positions which will be offered are for customer service representative, production worker/operator, sales clerk, cashier, laborer, lineman, financial consultant/advisor, and microfinance officer.

The forthcoming job fairs are set to take place at the following sites:

National Capital Region

  • SM Grand Central – Caloocan City
  • Rizal Gymnasium – Pasig City
  • SM City Marikina
  • SM Megamall – Mandaluyong City
  • Parañaque City Hall Gymnasium – Parañaque City
  • Vista Mall Taguig
  • SM Southmall – Las Piñas City
  • Robinsons Las Piñas

Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR)

Furthermore, prior to Independence Day, job fairs are scheduled to take place at the following locations: Western Philippines University in Aborlan, Palawan on June 7; Western Philippines University in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan on June 9; and SM City Rosales in Pangasinan on June 11.

Meanwhile, following Independence Day, job fairs will be held at NCCC Mall in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan on June 19; and STI College in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan on June 20.

DOLE encouraged jobseekers to prepare necessary application requirements prior to their visit to the job fair venues. The said requirements include resume or curriculum vitae, certificate of employment for those formerly employed, diploma, and transcript of records. (EEDC/PIA-CPSD)
