QUEZON CITY, (PIA) –Private Emission Testing Centers can now apply for accreditation online through the recently launched Integrated Registration Information System (IRegIS) of the Department of Trade and Industry - Fair Trade Enforcement Bureau (DTI-FTEB).
FTEB made the online processing of accreditation through IRegIS open and available for PETCs or those private facilities engaged in the determination of the opacity level and/or content analysis of the gaseous emission of motor vehicles.
The Bureau embarked on this online boost to accommodate more applications and consequently, increase the number of accredited PETCs with the necessary tools, equipment, facilities, expertise, and quality service.
FTEB Director Atty. Fhillip Sawali, in a statement said that implementing PETC accreditation through the IRegIS reflects that the Department holds Filipino consumers at the center of its quest for competitive and resilient frontline services.
“It attests to our commitment to delivering the exemplary service that Filipino consumers deserve, through a clear vision of services and processes digitalization,” Sawali said.
Meanwhile, Consumer Protection Group (CPG) Undersecretary Atty. Ruth B. Castelo commended FTEB’s commitment to its digital transformation and pledged support for what is ahead.
Such migration to online processing is in line with the Ease of Doing Business and Government Service Act of 2018, which streamlines frontline procedures to reduce the processing time of government permits and licenses.
FTEB launched the IRegIS in 2020 to facilitate the automation of the Bureau’s frontline services such as securing business certificates, accreditation, and permits. The IRegIS, spearheaded by the Information Systems Management Service (ISMS), provides convenience and comfort through the use of two other online portals: DTI-NegosyoKonek and DTIPay.
Prior, FTEB has successfully implemented four (4) systems through the IRegIS:
• Issuance of Sales Promotion Permit by the Sales Promotion Division (SPD);
• Issuance of Certificate of Authority to Import (CAI) by the Import Regulation Division (IRD);
• Accreditation of Sea Freight Forwarders (SFFs) by the Business Licensing and Accreditation Division (BLAD); and
• Service and Repair Enterprises also by the BLAD.
Other than implementing some of its frontline services through the IRegIS, FTEB also launched its website: www.fairtrade.dti.gov.ph, a single domain for all the services of its eight (8) divisions.
