Cagayan 3rd District Rep. Lara bares infra project updates

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan (PIA) - - Representative Joseph “Jojo” Lara of Cagayan province’s Third District recently presented updates on ongoing infrastructure projects within his area of responsibility during an interview on the Philippine Information Agency - Region 2’s program, Tipon-Tipan sa PIA.

According to Lara, ongoing projects include the Amulung Bridge over the Cagayan River, which links both eastern and western halves of Amulung; the Itawes Bridge connecting Piat and Sto Niño towns, and the Tuguegarao-Solana bridge, connecting Barangay Bagay, Tuguegarao City and Centro, Solana.

The lawmaker revealed plans to install an initial steel bridge for the Tuguegarao-Solana project, similar to that in Amulung, so that the route could already become serviceable to the public ahead of the project’s actual completion.

Other infrastructure projects initiated by the congressman include the Tuguegarao-Enrile Bridge, which will connect Barangay Gosi Sur, Tuguegarao and Barangay Alibagu, Enrile; another bridge over the Pinacanauan River in Tuguegarao City connecting the poblacion to Barangay Capatan; and the Tuguegarao Bypass road, which will connect Barangays Carig and Buntun.

Lara expressed his hopes that through the completion of these infrastructures by the DPWH, which are mostly for transportation and geographical access, the economy of the towns of southern Cagayan would improve, while the growing problem of heavy traffic would be eased. (JKC/PIA-Region 2)
