DOLE - CAR, partners invite jobseekers to Kalayaan Jobs Fair in Baguio City

BAGUIO CITY (PIA) - - The Department of Labor and Employment – Cordillera (DOLE – CAR) and its partners, are inviting jobseekers to ready their resume and bring their best selves  to the Kalayaan Jobs Fair set at the SM City Baguio and Porta Vaga Mall here come June 12.

Over 4,300 local job vacancies will be offered by 53 participating establishments in the two jobs fair venues.  32 establishments  will offer 1,438 job vacancies  at the  at the Skyzone of Porta Vaga and 2,926 job vacancies will be offered by 21 establishments at the Level 2 Sunset Terraces of the SM City Baguio.

Interested job seekers can visit the  two  venues  on June 11 for  pre – registration.

Romelda Escaño of the  Baguio City Public Employment Service Office advises jobseekers to bring multiple copies of their resume  so that they can apply to several vacancies.

Likewise, to  come in proper attire and bring their best selves.

Aside from the jobs fair, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI – CAR) will also  have  livelihood fairs and Negosyo Center booths. Free wellness services (manicure, pedicure and massage) will also be provided by  the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority in  on both venues.

Philippine Statistics Authority, Professional Regulatory Commission, Bureau of Internal Revenue, PAGIBIG Social Security System and Department of Tourism  will also offer their services.

DOLE – CAR OIC Assistant Regional Director  Emerito Narag ,  in the June 8 Kapihan sa Baguio to promote the Kalayaan Jobs Fair, affirmed a better labor market situation in Cordillera and with Baguio City as the center of commerce.

As per January 2023 data of the PSA, the employment rate in CAR  is at 96.7 percent, higher than the national figure of 95.2%.  Unemployment rate  stands at  3.3% which is lower than the 4.8% national average. (JDP/CCD-PIA CAR)
