DUMAGUETE CITY, Negros Oriental, June 6 (PIA) -- Newly-installed Gov. Manuel "Chaco" Sagarbarria led the flag-raising ceremony at the Capitol for the first Monday of the month which was attended by provincial employees on June 5 at Macias Sports Center, this city.
After Sagarbarrua assumed office, he pledged to strengthen and improve the province of Negros Oriental, aiming for a peaceful and progressive future.
In his message, Sagarbarria emphasized his administration's commitment to improving the state of the province under his leadership.
At the top of his agenda is the enhancement of hospitalization services, with the goal of implementing a zero balance bill system that will benefit the people of Negros Oriental.
His second priority is the implementation of Medical, Legal, and Social (MLS) missions to address the needs of the community.
He also expressed his determination to focus on revitalizing the tourism sector, which has been severely affected by the pandemic and recent events that have shaken the entire province.
In line with the plans to improve the province, the governor believes that it is essential to restructure the personnel and realign them to be responsive to the current situation.
During the recent turnover ceremony held at the Session Hall of the Legislative building, department heads facilitated a smooth transition by handing over documents, including accomplishments, plans, and programs from the previous administration.
The handover will assist the new administration in building upon the existing foundation and effectively implementing their vision for the province.
Sagarbarria officially took his oath as the new governor on May 31, 2023 after the death of then Governor Carlo Jorge Reyes. (JCT/PIA7 Negros Oriental with reports from Capitol)
