PAF Eastmin’s mall exhibit showcases capabilities, equipment

DAVAO CITY (PIA) - - The Philippine Air Force (PAF) Eastern Mindanao Tactical Operations Wing has organized a three-day Mall Exhibit 2023 at SM City Davao, showcasing its capabilities and equipment in terms of the special and air operations, and replicas of the current and modern aircraft of PAF.

The exhibit held on June 8-10 was part of the pre-celebration activity for the upcoming 76th Founding Anniversary of PAF.

The PAF TOWEastmin exhibited their capabilities for variety of missions such as in territorial defense, pilot training, humanitarian assistance, and disaster relief operations, combat utility support, and force protection.

BGen. Pedro S. Francisco III, Wing commander of the Tactical Operations Wing Eastern Mindanao, said the exhibit is part of the series of mall exhibits held in different parts of the country, such as in Cebu, Zamboanga, Albay, Pampanga, and Palawan, to continuously promote peace and security of the country.

“The Philippine Air Force pledged to continue to support the Filipino people in performing our mandate to serve and protect,” Francisco said. 

He assured that the activity gives importance to the community by developing their mission and vision of the Philippine Air Force, emphasizing that their job is not only about flying but also in disaster relief in times of calamity.

The exhibit also displayed a recruitment booth for interested aspirants who want to join the Philippine Air Force.

1LT Eunice Serios, acting PAF TOWEastmin information officer, noted that the recruitment booth was open for inquiries on applications for the following positions: Medical Officer lll, Engineer lll, Administrative Officer V, Nurse l, Computer Programer ll, Dentist l, Defense Research Officer, Intelligence Officer l, Widwife l, Aircraft Mechanic, and among others.

“Yes, we need applicants for the civilian human resource, and there will be higher officers from the headquarters to help us,” Serios said in the vernacular.

During the mall exhibit, the PAF Flight Plan 2040 was also highlighted, wherein the actual plan is in 2028, but was adjusted to 2040.

It will cover all about the organizations, facilities, the materials, and everything connected to the vision of the Philippine Air Force.

In line with the use of military aircraft for mission and disaster response, the PAF is open to requests of the use of the aircraft for emergency situations such as urgent medical transport. (JMR/REC, Interns/PIA Davao Region)
