MILG announces top 20 LDS towns with high functional ADAC

MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--After the result of the 2022 Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) audit has been issued, the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG) has finally announced the 20 localities in Lanao del Sur province which have been accordingly recognized as highly functional.

MILG-Lanao del Sur Peace and Order Council (POC) and ADAC Focal Mustapha Said presented that among the 40 towns in the province, there were 20 local government units (LGUs) that bagged the high functional recognition.

This title was bestowed to Marawi City and the municipalities of Bacolod Kalawi, Balindong, Binidayan, Buadiposo-Buntong, Bubong, Butig, Lumba-Bayabao, Lumbatan, Madalum, Marogong, Masiu, Mulondo, Piagapo, Taraka, Wao, Calanogas, Kapai, Kapatagan and Pagayawan.

However, out of these localities, only the towns of Calanogas, Kapai, Kapatagan and Pagayawan gained a total of 100 points in the recent audit.

Said stated that with this achievement, these places have the chance to qualify for the national awards.

“An ADAC of an LGU may only be eligible for national awards if they passed the eligibility criteria like having an overall score of 100 points,” he said.

Said also cited more qualifications to clinch the national award, such as if the LGU did not have any seriously affected barangays during the audit year 2022, and the local chief executive is not enlisted in the drug watch list.

Further, the awarding criteria also look at the ADAC functionality, sustainability of drug-cleared and free status, and percentage of completion rate of Community-Based Drug Rehabilitation Program (CBDRP) graduates vs. enrollees.

Said added that all ADACs eligible for the national awards are, nonetheless, subject to calibration by the ADAC National Audit Team which would use data from the Department of the Interior and Local Government for the barangay ADAC functionality.

Apart from the 20 towns with high functional ADACs, the MILG likewise publicized 14 municipalities with moderate functional and six with low functional ADACs.

The LGUs with moderate functionality were the municipalities of Amai Manabilang, Balabagan, Bayang, Ditsa-an Ramain, Ganassi, Lumbaca Unayan, Madamba, Marantao, Maguing, Picong, Poona Bayabao, Saguiaran, Tamparan and Tugaya.

On the other hand, low-functional LGUs were the towns of Lumbayanague, Malabang, Pualas, Sultan Dumalondong, Tagoloan II, and Tubaran. (CRG/PIA-10/Lanao del Sur)
