DOLE 6 gets ‘Pasidungog Award’ from OVP

BACOLOD CITY (PIA) –- The Department of Labor and Employment 6, whose partnership with the Office of the Vice President (OVP) Satellite Field Office in Bacolod City earned the department the "Pasidungog Award" from the OVP.

The OVP conferred a plaque of recognition to the DOLE 6, recognizing its contributions and support in achieving the OVP’s goals in changing the lives of the Filipino people.

The partnership made possible the provision of the P9,311,588.00 worth of emergency employment to 1,898 beneficiaries from the 17 barangays in Bacolod City through its Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced (TUPAD) workers package.

In a news release from DOLE 6, Vice President Sara Duterte underlined the common aspirations of the different partner agencies in alleviating the economic condition of the poor.

"We are here because of our shared aspiration for our fellow Filipinos — especially those who have been pushed against the wall by poverty and the cycle

of violence that comes with it," Duterte said, according to the DOLE press release.

Meanwhile, DOLE regional director lawyer Sixto Rodriguez, Jr. said that receiving the award is not just about recognition but also a reminder of the responsibility it entails.

"It is a challenge to continue doing our part in creating a better future for our country," Rodriguez underscored.

Rodriguez also recognized those who have shared their expertise and resources to help in the implementation of DOLE's various programs, saying that Pasidungog is a testament to the power of collaboration and the impact the department can achieve when they work together towards a common goal.

He further emphasized the inspiration it (award) gives to continue supporting VP Sara Duterte's advocacies for the betterment of the Filipino people. (AAL/EAD/PIA 6 Negros Occidental)
