LAGAWE, Ifugao (PIA) - - Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in partnership with the Provincial government conducted two-day training on barangay drug clearing program (BDCP) to representatives from the municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Councils (ADACs).
PDEA Provincial Officer Jenilyne Balgonia said the activity aimed to empower and capacitate the BDCP implementers thru coaching, training and mentoring to ensure efficient and sustainable implementation of the program to attain its ultimate goal. The program objectives are to realize drug-resilient and self-policing communities and to produce stigma-free rehabilitated persons who used drugs.
PDEA personnel discussed the stages and activities of BDCP implementation, validation process of barangay with drug-cleared status, validation process, vetting and confirmation of drug unaffected barangay,/municipality as drug free, advocacy and drug free workplace and other pertinent topics.
A manifesto was also signed by the trainees to support the program.
The training participants will act as trainers and facilitators in their respective municipalities to assist the different barangays in processing the needed documents for declaration of a certain place as drug free and cleared. (JDP/MBL, PIA CAR Ifugao)
