CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) - - The Local Chief Executive of the capital city of Isabela led the inauguration of the newly-renovated City Sports and Convention Center as part of the celebration of the 125th Philippine Independence and 78th liberation of the city, on June 12, 2023.

Mayor Josemarie L. Diaz, together with the Sangguniang Panlungsod members and other sectors in the city, jointly commemorated the country's 125th Independence Day and the 78th liberation of the City of Ilagan.

Mayor Diaz led the ribbon-cutting of the renovated former City of Ilagan Community Center, which is now renamed as the City Sports and Convention Center.

Right after the ceremony, Mayor Diaz offered flowers and a 21-gun salute at the monument of national hero Jose Rizal at the Rizal Park in the city’s central poblacion.

Annually, city officials and representatives of other sectors jointly celebrate Independence Day to honor the heroes of the country who offered their lives to free the nation from its former colonizers. (MGE / PIA Isabela)
