TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan (PIA) -- In celebration of the 125th Anniversary of Philippine Independence, the Philippine Statistics Authority - Cagayan Provincial Office (PSA-Cagayan) has participated in the Kalayaan Job Fair spearheaded by the Department of Labor and Employment - Region 2 (DOLE-2) held at SM City Tuguegarao.
Engr. Elena U. Rivera, Chief Statistical Specialist of PSA Cagayan, emphasized that having a national ID does not only simplify transactions but also contribute to the country's development and independence.
According to PSA news release, the PhilSys team from PSA Tuguegarao has set up a booth and enrolled at least ten job seekers and some DOLE employees for the national ID.
They also printed six e-philIDs for clients who requested physical copies to be used for their job application.
As part of the PhilSys registration drive, PSA also provided PhilSys merchandise to registrants and awarded them as prizes during a question and answer session related to PhilSys implementation.
The joint efforts of PSA-Cagayan and DOLE-2 at the Kalayaan Job Fair demonstrate their commitment to empowering Filipinos and enhance national security by facilitating the identification and tracking of individuals, especially in cases of criminal activity. (MJPT, PSA press release)
