KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato (PIA) -- A scholar of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority in Region XII urged the youth, particularly those who are out of school, to avail themselves of the scholarship programs of TESDA.
Jineyveb Samijon, a scholar from the municipality of Isulan, Sultan Kudarat, emphasized the importance of the scholarship program she availed herself of from TESDA. Samijon, an out-of-school youth, is currently enrolled in TESDA’s Driving NC II program, which is a good opportunity she can use in her future endeavors.
If given the chance to avail herself of another program, she said she wanted to enroll in Dressmaking NC II to further enhance her skills in sewing and practice her passion.
“Damo mabuligan ang TESDA, hindi kita mahuya, hindi kita mag duha-duha. Palapit kita sa TESDA kay ang TESDA dako gid na nga bulig sa aton tanan,” Samijon said.
The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority distributed over P12 million worth of assistance to its scholars in various NC II programs. The assistance included solar-powered household lighting systems for geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas in South Cotabato and toolkits for Carpentry NC II program beneficiaries who are decommissioned combatants.
Also included in the distribution is the training support fund for Rice Machinery Operations NC II, Driving NC II, and Carpentry NC II. The TESDA also distributed training support funds for the production of high-quality inbred rice, seed certification, and farm mechanization.
Overall, over 800 individuals benefited from the assistance.
Meanwhile, TESDA XII Regional Director Rafael Abrogar II said that with the new TESDA administration led by Secretary Suharto Mangudadatu, the implementation of programs, particularly in sitios, will become even stronger.
“Under his leadership, marami pang maabot ang TESDA na ating mga kababayan. He will definitely make the programs of TESDA more accessible para sa ating mga kababayan,” he said.
President Ferdinand "BongBong" Marcos Jr. himself led the delivery of government assistance on Wednesday at the South Cotabato Gymnasium and Cultural Center. (PIA 12)
