50 civilian volunteers undergo 45-day basic military training

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) - - Some 50 civilian volunteers from the different provinces of Cagayan Valley Region and Cordillera Administrative Region have started the 45-day basic military training at the 5th Infantry Division, Philippine Army camp based in Gamu town.

The training started on June 17, 2023 inside the 5ID, PA Division Training School.

Training School Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Omar B. Hagada said the trainees will become a regular force of the Civilian Armed Force Geographical Unit (CAFGU) Active Auxiliary and will be deployed in various places in Region 2 and CAR.

Hagada said the trainees are expected to embody discipline as the core values of CAFGU CAA to efficiently carry out their future duties and responsibilities in protecting the citizens.

"You will learn basic military training and discipline inside the Division Training School and will be applied in your future assignments,” Hagada said.

He said the the 5ID, PA Command is expecting that the civilian volunteers will complete their basic training to be deployed as force multipliers of the military in the maintenance of internal peace and security. (OTB/MGE/PIA Isabela)
