CABARROGUIS, Quirino (PIA) - - The provincial local government unit (PLGU) along with the six municipal local government units here have undergone documentary review and on-site validation by the Regional Assessment Team (RAT) for the 2023 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG).
The SGLG is an institutionalized award, incentive, honor, and recognition-based program that encourages the LGUs’ commitment to continuously progress and improve their performance along various governance areas.
The RAT visited the six municipalities on the following dates: June 2, 2023 - Diffun; June 5, 2023 - Saguday; June 6, 2023 - Maddela; June 7, 2023 - Aglipay; June 8, 2023 - Nagtipunan; June 9, 2023 - Cabarroguis and June 13, 2023- PLGU.
In 2022, the provincial government and three municipalities, namely Diffun, Saguday and Maddela passed the SGLG national assessment.
For 2023, the provincial government and the six municipalities must pass all the assessment criteria such as Financial Administration and Sustainability; Disaster Preparedness; Social Protection and Sensitivity; Health Compliance and Responsiveness; Sustainable Education; Business-Friendliness and Competitiveness; Safety, Peace and Order; Environmental Management; Tourism, Heritage Development, Culture and Arts; and Youth Development.
For the province to qualify for the Seal, at least ten percent (10%) of its six municipalities must also be SGLG passers.
On the other hand, each of the municipalities must have at least 50% of their barangays which participated in the Seal of Good Local Governance for Barangay (SGLGB) in order to qualify for the Seal. (OTB/TCB/PIA Quirino)
