BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) - - The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) has established Forestland Management Program (FMP) – Agroforestry Support Facilities (ASF) in the province to support livelihood of its partners in support of the agency’s protection and conservation of the environment.
DENR Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer Engineer Giovannie Magat said 38 FMP-ASF projects worth more than P568 million were established in various towns.
He said these projects are 11 access roads, 7 pathways, 3 tirepaths, 3 RCDG bridges, 3 hanging bridges, 1 slab bridge, 9 irrigation pipeline systems and 1 coffee processing center.
“These projects are benefiting our partners through their agro-forestry livelihood projects,” Magat said.
He said 8 Small Water Impounding Systems (SWIS) were also constructed from 2020 to 2022 to support their Soil Conservation and Watershed Management (SCWM).
Magat said these are located in barangay San Fabian in Kayapa; barangays Canabay, Banila, Talbec and Dopaj in Dupax del Sur; barangay Villaflores in Sta. Fe and barangays Cabuaan and Bansing in Bayombong town.
