DTI-Capiz kicks off 2023 Consumer Advocacy

ROXAS CITY, Capiz (PIA) -- At least 26 retailers of manufactured, agricultural, basic necessities and prime commodities participated in the kickoff of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – Capiz Consumer Protection Unit’s 2023 Consumer Advocacy, June 14, at the Mambusao Public Market in Mambusao town.

"Conduct your business with a conscience," said DTI - CPU OIC Merian Asas during the activity as she discussed the salient features of Republic Act 7394 or the Consumer Act of the Philippines.

The important provisions of the Price Tag Law were also discussed before the retailers.

Asas added that the province-wide roll out of the campaign is about consumer protection as it reminds those in the business sector of their obligation as sellers based on the existing Fair Trade Laws.

The activity, in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Mambusao town, has the support of the Negosyo Center in the municipality.

DTI will also carry out a similar campaign in President Roxas town on June 22 and will be scheduled in other municipalities according to the number of their respective registered businesses until all the local government units have been reached out, noted Asas. (AGP/AAL/PIA Capiz)
