19 potential entrepreneurs in Tarlac City benefit in DTI skills training

TARLAC CITY (PIA) -- About 19 potential entrepreneurs in Tarlac City benefited from the skills training of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

In partnership with Central Azucarera de Tarlac High School-Annex, identified parent-beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program joined the entrepreneurial workshop on jam and spread making.

DTI OIC-Provincial Director Zaida Garibay acknowledged the simplicity yet profitability of the activity for future entrepreneurs.

“The products introduced are easy to prepare, the ingredients are accessible, and the tools needed are readily available in their kitchen.  The learning that they will gain from this training, coupled with perseverance and hard work, if applied, will be of help in uplifting the lives of the beneficiaries,” Garibay said.

Aside from demonstrating the process of making yema spread, peanut butter, and pineapple jam, Resource Speaker Gerald Presiados also discussed Good Manufacturing Practices to educate the participants on the essentials of production.

Likewise, Negosyo Center Tarlac City Trade-Industry Development Analyst Jhoy Alouh Pangilinan shared her insights on the basics and rewards of entrepreneurship.

DTI vowed to assist the participants from the process of creating their own business to marketing their products through its various service offerings. (CLJD/GLSB-PIA 3)
