Camarines Sur, DFA team up for 'Mobile Passport on Wheels' initiative

PILI, Camarines Sur (PIA) –Camarines Sur Governor Luigi Villafuerte forged a partnership with the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) to conduct the Mobile Passport on Wheels initiative, starting today, June 21, until June 22, Thursday at the Fuerte CamSur Sports Complex, Cadlan here.

Villafuerte, through the provincial government’s Southeast Asian Institute of Computer and Technology (SEAICT) office and the Camarines Sur Public Employment Center (CamSur PESO), initiated the said activity to provide Camarinenses with convenience and ease, enabling them to save time and resources. 

The said undertaking also aims to avoid the necessity of queuing at the DFA regional office in Legazpi City for new passport applications or renewals.

Requirements for new registrants (18 years old and above), include NBI clearance and birth certificate issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).  If PSA is not clear or unreadable, the applicant may get a local copy from the local registrar where he or she resides.

Married applicants will have to present a PSA-generated marriage contract.

All applicants are also required to present at least one (1) valid ID.  A list of valid IDs may include cards issued from SSS, GSIS, and UMID.  They may also present LTO Driver’s license ( Student permits may be accepted if it is in card format), PRC ID, Philippine Identification (PhilIDO, OWWA card, voter’s ID or voter’s certificate, Senior Citizen ID, PNP permit to carry firearms outside of residence, Airman license (issued from Aug. 2016 onwards) and Philippine Postal ID, issued on Nov. 16 onwards.

Other valid cards which are accepted include the seafarer’s record book or the seafarer’s identity document. Only those issued from Feb. 2020 and onwards will be accepted. 

Those who will renew their passport, they need to bring their valid or latest passport. 

Minor applicants may present their school ID which should contain the applicant's photo and certificate of enrolment with the school’s dry seal imprinted on it.  Minor applicants should also bring additional documents if they are not accompanied by either parent. It includes Special Power of Attorney (SPA), Affidavit of Support and consent, and DSWD clearance.

The nearest Philippine Embassy or consulate should authenticate both the SPA and the affidavit of support and consent if the minor’s parents are in other countries.

Personal appearance is  required.

PSA-issued birth and marriage certificates, old passports, and valid IDs are also needed for those who will renew their machine-readable-ready (Green passport) and machine-ready passport (Maroon passport).   (PIA 5/ Camarines Sur)
