VIRAC, Catanduanes (PIA)- As a component of the 2023 Linggo ng Kalikasan festivities, the provincial government of this island-province spearheaded the Fun Run on June 19, Monday to to kick-off the celebration.
The activity started at the Imelda Boulevard and was concluded at the Provincial Capitol Grounds where a short program was held. This was followed by a flag-raising ceremony and zumba dance.
In his message, Governor Joseph C. Cua reminded all participants that it is the duty of every Catandunganon to protect the rich biodiversity and ecosystem of the island-province.
He emphasized that Catanduanes is among the cleanest and greenest provinces among the 81 provinces in the country and has a huge potential to encourage more nature-loving tourists.
Anchored on the theme: ‘#BeatPlasticPollution: Focus on Solutions to Plastic Solutions,’ the following activities will form part of the celebration: information education campaign (June 20); mangrove planting (June 21); tree planting (June 22) and river clean-up (June 23). (PIA5/Cataduanes)
