DOH-USAID launch eLMIS in Capiz

ROXAS CITY, Capiz (PIA) -- The Department of Health (DOH) in collaboration with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) launched the Electronic Logistic Management Information System (eLMIS) at El Circulo Convention Center here.

The eLMIS is an integrated software system which enables users to electronically carry out supply chain management tasks like distribution, stock allocation, inventory control, and warehouse administration.

Health Undersecretary Maria Carolina V. Taiño stated that eLMIS intends to address issues with medical equipment and supply service delivery as it allows medical workers to get real-time data on stacks.

“The implementation of this system is to ensure harmony and efficient management of supply chain operations at the central, regional, and local levels to achieve development in health-related programs,” Taiño noted.

USAID Philippines Office of Health Acting Director Willma Pressman said they will continue to work with the DOH, local

government units, and other partners to have more universal sites implementing the eLMIS.

“USAID believes that a strong and effective health supply management system is vital to implementing successful health care programs and improving the health of the Filipinos,” Pressman added.

Roxas City mayor Dadivas openly welcomed eLMIS in Roxas, citing that the eLMIS program is a good addition to his vision of a bigger, better, and brighter Roxas City.

To note, there are 36 national and regional warehouses of eLMIS in the country and only the province of Capiz and Antique have it in Western Visayas.

Apart from Taiño and Pressman, USAID MTaPs Country Program Director Gashaw Shiferaw, DOH Western Visayas Center for Health Development Regional Director Adriano P. Suba-an, Governor Fredenil Castro, other local executives in the province, and PHO representatives from all six provinces in Western Visayas also attended the event. (AGP/PLF/PIA Capiz)
