DTI-DavOcc provides fish processing training for 20 agrarian reform beneficiaries

DAVAO CITY (PIA) -- The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)– Davao Occidental has successfully conducted a skills enhancement training on fish processing in Barangay Caburan Small, Jose Abad Santos town.

A total of 20 members of the Tugas Rural Improvement Association (TRIA), an Agrarian Reform Beneficiary Organization (ARBO) in Jose Abad Santos, have benefitted from the training.

The activity emphasized the importance of fish processing among the participants, where they witnessed procedures of fish processing demonstration and were given lectures on the importance of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

The training under DTI’s Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program, assists beneficiaries in identifying potential and ongoing risks in their business, and helping them develop strategic plans to recover and move forward.

The activity is aimed at empowering the beneficiaries by providing appropriate processing techniques and a broader understanding of delivering products of superior quality to cater to the growing demands of the market, and its continued contribution to the town's economic growth.
