CABANATUAN CITY (PIA) -- Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed two multipurpose covered courts in Cabanatuan City worth P9.8 million.
 
They are located inside Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) and Camp Tinio Elementary School (CTES).
 
DPWH Nueva Ecija 2nd District Engineer Elpidio Trinidad said these facilities will not only benefit the end users but also the surrounding community.
 
Trinidad added that the covered court within the BJMP facility at barangay Kalikid Sur was specifically designed to offer Persons Deprived of Liberty an area for recreational activities and exercise, promoting their physical and mental well-being.
 
Moreover, the covered court constructed for about 2,000 students of CTES in barangay Camp Tinio will enhance their educational environment and provide a conducive space for school activities.
 
Both projects were implemented under the agency’s Basic Infrastructure Program with funds from the General Appropriations Act of 2023. (CLJD-PIA 3)
