CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA) -- The private sector in Northern Mindanao welcomed the inclusion of public-private partnerships in the Regional Development Plan (RDP) 2023-2028 to prop up the local economy.
During the recent launching of the said RDP, Raymundo Talimio Jr., the president of the Cagayan de Oro Chamber of Commerce and Industry Foundation, Inc., highlighted that collaborative efforts between the public and private sectors are crucial in achieving inclusive and sustainable development.
He cited that the plan's focus on public-private partnerships resonates deeply with the values and objectives of his sector. As such, he affirmed the allegiance of the private sector to help the government attain the goals and objectives of NMRDP.
Talimio also lauded the commitment on promoting businesses, supporting micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises, and fostering innovation. These, he said, are essential for driving economic diversification, creating employment opportunities, and nurturing a culture of innovation and competitiveness in our region.
The Oro Chamber executive likewise praised the NMRDP's emphasis on human capital and infrastructure development citing formal education, skills training, and infrastructure as vital components in creating an enabling environment that attracts investments and enhances productivity. It also ensures a well-prepared workforce capable of meeting the demands of a rapidly evolving economy.
"We are excited to actively participate in its implementation and collaborate with the other stakeholders to turn this plan into a tangible reality. We are always ready to contribute our expertise, resources, and unwavering support toward achieving the plan's objectives and creating a vibrant and resilient Northern Mindanao for the benefit of all," Talimio added.
