DHSUD chief urges its regional directors to expedite the rollout of the national housing program

QUEZON CITY, (PIA) –  The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) has called on its regional directors to put forward the implementation of the institutionalized “Pabahay para sa Pilipino Housing (4PH) Program” to their local jurisdictions or areas of responsibility.

DHSUD Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar delivered this message to ramp up the concerted efforts of the national government in bridging the 6.5-million housing gap that confront the Filipino people, particularly the informal settler families (ISFs).

"Sa bawat bahay na ating naipapatayo ay isang pamilyang Pilipino ang ating matutulungan makaahon sa kahirapan. Let us all be inspired and always remember that we are uplifting the dignity of every Filipino family that would benefit from 4PH," said the housing czar, during the alignment meeting at the DHSUD Central Office last June 21.

According to Secretary Acuzar, the implementation of the national housing program should be seen as an opportunity to extend a better service to the nation especially to those whose lives remain to be underprivileged.

In this regard, the housing czar has enjoined all the 16 regional directors and officers-in-charge to align their efforts in ensuring that the program’s prospects of building one million houses per year until 2028 will not only be achieved but will also materialize to strengthen the livability of communities.

"Napakahalaga na maging synchronized ang lahat ng galaw  natin...sa pagsusulong ng Pambansang Pabahay sa buong bansa, dapat tayo ay may iisang direksyon lamang para sa mabilis at matagumpay na implementasyon ng programa ng ating Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. (It is important to synchronize all our initiatives in terms of advancing the national program to the whole of the country. We should have a united direction towards a progressive and successful implementation of this program by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.)” he added.

To date, the DHSUD has been actively signing Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between local government units across the country to formalize partnerships that will facilitate further housing production. (DHSUD/PIA-NCR)
