NDRM 2023 regional activities set

ILOILO CITY (PIA) -- The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) 6 urges everyone to participate in its various line-up of activities for the observance of the National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) this July.

OCD 6 Capacity Building and Training Section staff Jessle Joy Perales said that the NDRM kick off activity in the region will start with a “Run For Resilience” at 7:00 a.m. on July 1 in Bacolod City.

A Quiz Bee and On-The-Spot Poster Making Contests will be held in Bacolod City at the Ayala Malls Capitol Central soon after.

The On-the-Spot Poster Making Contest is open for secondary and senior high school students while the Quiz Bee Contest is open to Grades 4 to 6 elementary students. 

The selected contestants from each schools division shall present a certification as the official representative together with parent consent.

Prizes for both contests include P5,000.00 and Plaque of Recognition for the 1st place, P3,000.00 and Plaque of Recognition for the 2nd place, P2,000.00 and Plaque of Recognition for the 3rd place, and two consolation prizes worth Php500.00 with Certificate of Recognition.

For its part, the Department of Social Welfare and Development 6, will also conduct an Earthquake and Fire Orientation on July 3 to be followed by an actual drill on July 17, a Resilience Building Activity, "Klimatalino" Quiz/"Environmentalino" Quiz show on July 18 to 20, tree planting on July 25, and 1st DSWD RepackingLYMPICS – Interagency Edition and a Disaster Response Management Convention on July 30 to August 1, 2023.

This year's NDRM theme is “BIDAng Pilipino: Building a Stronger Filipino Well-Being towards Disaster Resilience”. 

The NDRM observance is held every July as embodied under Executive Order No. 29 s. 2017. (AAL/EJB/PIA 6)
