TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan (PIA) - - The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) in Cagayan Valley convened all the coordinators of the Regional GovNet Project Phase I based in Tuguegarao City through a forum dubbed as ‘Kapehan” on June 27.

According to DICT Regional Director Engr. Pinky T. Jimenez, the “kapehan” aimed to assess the current setup and usage of the GovNet capacity based on the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed between the DICT and the GovNet agency-beneficiaries.

“This forum is also a venue to evaluate the agencies’ capability and know-how in the utilization of the GovNet and to gather inputs from stakeholders on other ICT needs relative to the project,” Jimenez said.

She also added that the forum is very timely in the identification of challenges and risks that may be encountered in the utilization of GovNet’s capacity and its corresponding solutions.

“We will also maximize this opportunity to provide insights of the existing, new and upcoming DICT services that can aid in the enhancement of public service,” Jimenez said.

The DICT's GovNet aims to create an interconnected network of government agencies in the country to enable faster communication, better coordination, easier access to online services, and simplified processes. (ALM/PIA Region 2)
