CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga(PIA) --The city government led by Mayor Darwin C. Estranero  recognized   top performing  barangays  that have shown  exemplary delivery of programs and services thru the  Gangsa Awards.

This year’s Gangsa awardees  under the Rural Category  were Barangay Tuga in  first place; Brgy. Malalao, second; Brgy. Lucog , third ; Brgy. Lanna,  fourth,  and Brgy. Bado Dangwa in  fifth place.With the awards ceremony  a highlight of annual city founding anniversary and Matagoan Festival celebration,

For the Urban Category,  Barangay Ipil  was  first and Brgy.   Bulanao  in  second place.  Brgys.  Dagupan Centro; Dilag and Dagupan West  were   ranked  third, fourth and fifth, respectively.  

The winners  were feted  during the  Matagoan Festival 2023 Solidarity and Awards Night 2023 at  the Tabuk  Peoples Gymnasium   in June 24.

 The first placers received cash incentive  of  P100,000,  a set of gong  and a  plaque each.

Second  place winners got  P75,000 each;  3rd  place- P50,000; 4th - P30,000 and  5th- P20,000. All the winners received plaques.

Estranero said the recognition is in appreciation to barangay efforts and to steer up other barangays.

The Gangsa Award is  an annual incentive program and  the most prestigious citation given by the city  government  to barangays in the field of service delivery. (JDP/LL-PIA CAR, Kalinga)
