2nd OTOP Hub in Guimaras now open

Iloilo City (PIA) – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – Guimaras, together with the province of Guimaras and local government unit of Jordan town, launched last June 27 the second One Town One Product (OTOP) Hub Extension – Guimaras located at the Iloilo Wharf in Barangay Rizal of Jordan town in Guimaras.

DTI-Guimaras OIC-Provincial Director Mutya D. Eusores expresses her gratitude to LGU Jordan for taking up the challenge to provide a strategic location for the 2nd OTOP Hub in Guimaras. (PIA6/EJB)

Jordan Mayor Cresente Chavez, Jr. said that the strategic location of the hub will provide the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the province the opportunity to promote the products of Guimaras and give the tourists much easier access to enjoy them.

The OTOP is a priority stimulus for the Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) in the Philippines, enabling localities or communities to develop, support, and promote products and services towards inclusive growth.

Products and services offered in OTOP hubs are those that localities are best known for.

For her part, DTI-Guimaras OIC-Provincial Director Mutya D. Eusores said that they hope that the MSMEs will maximize the very good display site of the new OTOP hub.

Guimaras Food Producers, Inc. President Gilden Delmo said that the local economy will best benefit the OTOP Hub project.

It will also provide MSMEs an opportunity to grow, she added.

The OTOP Hub is the 7th of its kind in Western Visayas and 2nd in Guimaras. (AAL/PIA6/EJB)
