CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga (PIA) – The Kalinga Provincial Hospital (KPH) is now 53 years operating as the province’s premiere health care facility.
The founding anniversary celebration that opened June 27 was marked with free X-ray, PAP-smear and circumcision to the public. About 150 government employees had availed of free X-ray.
Gov. James S. Edduba who led the opening program acknowledged the efforts of pioneer and current employees in sustaining the operation of the hospital. He recalled how KPH started as a community hospital through meager resources under the provincial government until it developed today as the province’s prime health care facility.
Seeing the growing health needs of the province and also of nearby areas, the Department of Health (DOH) and local government are working-out to develop the facility to a level-2 hospital, Edduba said.
The province’s LUMINAWA agenda has included adding new health equipment and personnel to improve services of the hospital.
Under the current administration, it is being worked out to establish a people’s Malasakit Center here. (LL—PIA CAR, Kalinga)
