VIGAN CITY, Ilocos Sur (PIA) — The National Nutrition Council (NNC) Region 1 enjoined the public to participate in the celebration of Nutrition Month this July.
Shamrock Bas-ilan, project development officer of NNC Region 1, said that the theme for the 49th celebration of Nutrition Month is “Healthy diet gawing affordable for all!".
He shared that they have concluded the planning of activities for the celebration along with their partner agencies namely the Department of Health, the Department of Science and Technology, and the Department of Education (DepEd).
“Marami pong inihanda ang NNC sa region, marami pong nakalinya na bagong contest, may nagbabalik na contest na maaaring salihan ng lahat dahil open to all. Basically, we invite all stakeholders to engage them toward enabling access to affordable, sustainable, and healthy diet,” he said.
The NNC released on Tuesday the mechanics of the Nuri Jingle Video Contest Season 6 in partnership with the DepEd Regional Office 1.
The contest is open to all secondary school students in the region and they can submit their entries until July 14.
For the first place, the winner will receive a cash prize of P10,000, the second place will take home P8,000 and the third place will receive P5,000.
Meanwhile, they also prepared a contest for all aspiring vloggers in the region, the kaNutri-Vlogger sa Barangay Challenge.
Prizes for this are P15,000 for the first placer, P12,000 for the second, and P10,000 for the third placer.
All winners and participants for both contests will be given certificates, and there is a consolation prize of P2,000.
He also invited local offices of the national government agencies to show their support in the celebration through the Pagbati Challenge which is also an annual event for the Nutrition Month celebration. (JCR/AMB/ATV, PIA Ilocos Sur)
