QMLC new officers take oaths

DIFFUN, Quirino (PIA) - - The new officers of the Quirino Mamparang Lions Club (QMLC) recently took their oaths of office during the celebration of the club's  9th founding anniversary on June 11, 2023 at Villa Arce, Andres Bonifacio, Diffun, this province.

The newly installed officers are President: Atty. Arce Asuncion; 1st Vice President- Noel Martinez; 2nd Vice President Enrique Olivar; Secretary-Bernadette Asuncion; Asst.Secretary- Gemma Escalana;

The Quirino Mamparang Lions Club will conduct a free diabetes and hypertension screening and distribution of free eyeglasses on July 1, 2023 to jumpstart their humanitarian activity this year.

Asst.Treasurer- Dra. Glo Sanidad;

Tale Twister-Nenita Manubay;

Lion Tamer-Aurea Tolentino;

Membership Committee Chair-"Emelie Cadiente;

Marketing Committee Chair: Julieann Batoon;

Club Coordinator-Jelethe Remittere;

Service Chairperson-Clarita Itchon; and

LCIF Coordinator-Francis Acosta.

Elected as members of Board of Directors were Dra. Mila Villar, Dr. Alex Cristobal, Elizabeth Nicolas and Artemio Ancheta.

Governor Dakila Carlo E. Cua serves as the adviser and Maryrose Pascua Barnhurst as the guiding lion of the club.

Barnhurst said the Quirino Mamparang Lions Club is a part of Lions Club International, a network of volunteers who work together to answer the needs that challenge communities around the world.

'It was approved by the Lions Club International as a new charter club in District 301-C Northern Luzon, Philippines, on March 31, 2014," she added.

Pascua further stressed the club was organized to carry on the Lions motto, “WE SERVE” and put into action the mission statement of Lions Club International, which is to create and foster a spirit of understanding among all people for humanitarian needs by providing volunteer services through community involvement and international cooperation.

As its first humanitarian activity for 2023, the club will conduct diabetes and hypertension screening for 100 Individuals and distribution of eyeglasses on July 1, 2023 at the old ABRASA building, National Highway, Andres Bonifacio, Diffun.

The humanitarian organization will also hold its first meeting to plan for its one-year target activities. (TCB/PIA Quirino)
