NFA urges gov’t agencies to claim one-time rice allowance

VIRAC, Catanduanes (PIA) - The provincial office of the National Food Authority (NFA) here is urging government agencies to facilitate the submission of the requirements for the release of the One-Time Rice Allowance (OTRA) and submit them prior to the deadline for availment of the OTRA on June 30. 

NFA Catanduanes Acting Warehouse Supervisor Andrew Zandrex Austero II, said that  a total of 3,273 bags of NFA rice were already released to 29 offices/agencies in the province as of June 27.

He disclosed that the Philippine Veterans Affairs Office (PVAO) in Catanduanes was the first agency to receive the rice assistance last April.

Austero added that they were distributing and facilitating the release of rice to personnel of Philippine National Police in the province.

Administrative Order No. 2, signed by President Marcos Jr., authorized the grant of one-time assistance at a uniform quantity of 25 kilograms of rice to all qualified government workers/employees and shall be granted to beneficiaries who are still in the government service and/or engaged by government agencies as of November 30, 2022.

As of their latest data, there were 7,741 government workers in Catanduanes. (EAB-PIA5/Catanduanes)
