MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--Beneficiaries of the "Go Baby Go" Parenting Program conveyed not just their gratitude but also their learning from the ten-session program.

The program was implemented by World Vision Philippines from May to July this year.

Parent Anisah Ansar from Barangay Cadayonan 1 said she now understands that being a good mother is not only measured by providing financial support to the child but also by providing attention and time, as this contributes to the child's growth and development.

"Sa bawat development nila mula sa loob ng tiyan hanggang sa paglaki, gabayan natin sila lalo na tayong mga ina dahil kung ano man ang maituro natin sakanila at masasagap nila habang maliit sila ay siyang dala-dala nila hanggang sa paglaki," she said

(In their every development, from inside the belly to growing up, let's guide them, especially us, mothers, because whatever we teach them and grasp while they are small is what they will carry with them until they grow up)

Ainah Waida, a first-time mom from Barangay Malimono, is also happy because she learned the proper way of disciplining a child, the proper provision of food, and the importance of vaccination for children.

Meanwhile, Asnaira Maruhom from Cadayonan 2 said that not only did she learn proper childcare but also the importance of self-care.

"Isa rin sa mga magandang natutunan ko sa sessions namin ay yung magtira ka para sa sarili mo. Kasi tayong mga mothers lahat binibigay natin [sa pamilya] pero kailangan din natin magtira para sa sarili natin dahil para rin naman yun sakanila [anak]," she said.

(One of the good things I learned in our sessions is to live for yourself. Because we, as mothers, give everything to our family, but we also have to live for ourselves because it is also for them, the children.)

The beneficiaries also extended their gratitude to the organization for their help and support. They said they were glad that they were part of the Go Baby Go parenting program. (JND/PIA-10/Lanao del Sur)
