ILIGAN CITY (PIA)--The Chamber of Commerce and Industry Foundation of Iligan Inc. (CCIFII) signed five Memorandums of Agreement (MOAs) with various stakeholders, namely the Iligan City Police Office (ICPO), Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology National Multipurpose Cooperative (MSU-IIT NMC), Multifactors Sales, Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Iligan Chapter, and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
The MOA signing marked a significant milestone for the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Week celebration activities.
These partnerships aim to ensure the public's best interests and foster economic growth and development in the community. It aims to implement various programs that support entrepreneurship, create job opportunities, and empower individuals with the necessary tools and knowledge.
CCIFII President Reggie Punongbayan expressed gratitude for the new partnerships, which were established to improve services and provide opportunities to the public.
"I extend my sincere appreciation to our partners who have worked with us on this journey. Your steadfast support and invaluable contributions have paved the way for the success of our initiatives. Together, we present a powerful example of what can be achieved through collaboration, innovation, and a shared commitment to excellence," she said.
The new partners, both government agencies and non-government organizations, have assured that they will enhance their capabilities to serve the public's best interests and collaborate with other programs.
The partnership with ICPO aims to promote peace and order while also providing livelihood and skills training through the Ronda Barangay program. This initiative seeks to make a significant difference in the lives of Iliganons.
Similarly, the partnership with MSU-IIT NPC focuses on providing financial education and facilitating access to resources. Additionally, it aims to promote sustainable livelihoods and strengthen the overall well-being of its constituents. The goal is to create an environment that promotes growth, development, and an enhanced quality of life.
Furthermore, the partnership with Multifactors Sales aims to provide free WiFi access to underserved barangays in the hinterlands of Iligan City. This collaboration begins with barangays Digkilaan and Mandulog. The project opens doors to online entrepreneurship, e-learning opportunities, telemedicine services, and improved communication channels for the community.
In addition, the partnership with the PRC involves conducting mobile bloodletting caravans. These initiatives raise awareness about the importance of blood donation and foster a culture of giving. The objective is to encourage individuals to engage in voluntary humanitarian work.
Lastly, the partnership with DOLE involves programs such as Pre-Employment Seminars and Job Caravans. These programs also include the provision of basic and advanced first-aid training. Over the next 12 months, approximately 800,000 MSME workers will benefit from this training. The CCIFII will provide DOLE with a comprehensive list of members and establishments benefiting from the training.
