LAGAWE, Ifugao (PIA) - - The provincial local government unit through the Provincial Agriculture, Environment and Natural Resources Office (PAENRO) joined in the nationwide roll-out of the Kadiwa ng Pangulo (KNP) on July 17.
The PAENRO established a KNP display area at the capitol atrium in partnership with the Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), National Food Authority (NFA) and Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
Among the displayed products of local farmers and entrepreneurs include vegetables, fruits, heirloom rice, and other home grown products for the buying public to avail.
Governor Jerry Dalipog enjoined local farmers and entrepreneurs to continuously cultivate their farms and produce the basic commodities needed by the communities.
He looks forward for the speedy completion of the Food Processing Center and Trading Post in in Lagawe town and the conduct of a forum where suggestions will be discussed for possible implementation.
The KNP is part of the Marcos’ administration’s campaign on food security with the DA as the lead agency, fully supported by the DTI, DILG, Department of Labor and Employment and the Dept. of Social Welfare and Development. This is also to ensure the availability and affordability of food in areas with high demand and in communities with low-income families. (MBL, PIA CAR, Ifugao)
