QUEZON CITY (PIA) -- In honor of 60 years of serving and protecting the investments of depositors, the Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) has partnered with Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) once again to release a set of commemorative stamps highlighting their success and achievements.
Depositor protection has been a top priority for PDIC ever since it was founded in 1963. Over the past six decades, PDIC has worked tirelessly to instill confidence in the banking system and protect the funds of individual savers.
The stamps, which feature a diamond-inspired 60th anniversary logo and the anniversary theme, “60 Years of Championing Depositor Protection and Fostering Financial Stability”, are a testament to the institution's steadfast commitment to depositor protection.
The radiance and strength of the diamond, as captured in the commemorative stamp’s design, convey strength and a timeless quality; and serve as a testament to PDIC’s exemplary public service for the last six decades. It also signifies the sustaining brilliance that the PDIC commits to exemplify in all areas of its operations to continuously champion depositor protection.
In his message during the signing ceremony held at the PDIC office in Makati on June 15, 2023, PDIC President and CEO Roberto B. Tan said, “More than its functional usage, a postage stamp is a piece of history immortalized in a compact piece of paper with a well-thought-out design. The brilliance of the diamond, as captured in the stamp’s design, conveys a timeless quality and serves as a testament to PDIC’s exemplary public service for the last six decades. It also signifies the sustaining brilliance that the PDIC commits to exemplify in all areas of our operations, in the next 60 years and even beyond.”
PHLPost has printed 40,000 copies of the stamps, which will be sold at P16 each’ The said stamp is a collector's item for banking enthusiasts and serve as a lasting tribute to the institution's unwavering commitment to depositors throughout the years. (PIA-NCR/PDIC)
