QUEZON CITY (PIA) – Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano and Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto, signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on Thursday, July 20, allowing tricycle operators to drop off commuters from Taguig to Pasig and vice versa.

According to the agreement, Taguig City allows Pasig tricycle operators to drop commuters from Pasig (point of origin) to the designated drop-off points in Taguig. Here are the drop-off points in Taguig City:

  • Taguig City Hall
  • Brgy. Ususan
  • Brgy. Napindan
  • Tipas
  • Brgy. Tuktukan
  • Brgy. Bambang

While Pasig City also allows Taguig tricycle operators to drop commuters from Taguig going to Pasig in the following designated drop-off points:

  • Brgy. Buting
  • Immaculate Conception Cathedral Parish
  • Kalawaan
  • Pasig Mega-Market
  • Meralco-Sagad

However, tricycle drivers from each city cannot pick up commuters inside each the other city. (Example: a Pasig City TODA cannot pick up a commuter inside Taguig City going to Pasig.)

Mayor Sotto said he acknowledged the great possibilities that can be achieved when local governments work together.

Patunay lang po ito na kung magtutulungan po ang iba’t ibang lokal na pamahalaan ay mas magiging maganda po para sa ating mga nasasakupan,” he said.

For her part, Mayor Cayetano expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to work with another city government prioritizing people’s welfare.

Kagaya ho ni Mayor Vico, ipinagpapasalamat natin ang isang magandang halimbawa ng pag-uugnayan ng mga lokal na pamahalaan,” she stated.

The initiative is part of the efforts of the two city governments to make commuting easy and comfortable for the public without having to go through multiple rides. (PIA-NCR)
