PASIG CITY, (PIA) -- The Joint Task Force National Capital Region (JTF NCR) of the Armed Forces of the Philippines deploys around 500 military personnel with other government agencies to support the NCRPO-PNP to ensure peace and security during the second State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Monday, July 24, 2023 at the Batasang Pambansa Complex, Quezon City.
Military troop deployment includes Civil Disturbance Management (CDM) companies, Ambu-medic teams, K9 and EOD Teams from AFP units to augment the security operations of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO).
AFP Chief of Staff General Romeo Brawner Jr. directed the Joint Task Force NCR to closely coordinate with the Philippine National Police to improve security preparations conducted since last week to preempt serious threats that may compromise peace and security during SONA.

General Brawner also emphasized to make the SONA 2023 peaceful, orderly, and secure. He further instructed AFP units to deploy more troops if needed, in coordination with the PNP.
In addition, the AFP with JTF NCR is ready to support the local government units and other government agencies to provide ‘Libreng Sakay’ to ease the inconvenience of commuters who will be affected by the possible transport strike beginning Monday, July 24. (JTF NCR/PIA-NCR)
