BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) - - Governor Jose "Jing" Gambito has spearheaded a project to revitalize the Calderon Compound,  the restoration of the boating lagoon and the expansion of parking areas.

Reynaldo Delim,  a foreman from the Special Operation Division of the Provincial General Services Office (PGSO) said the project, which commenced in the 3rd week of June, is currently in progress.

“The Governor's vision for this initiative is to create more spacious roads and pathways within the Capitol while also restoring the boating lagoon,” he said.

Delim said the project seeks  to provide ample parking space for employees, clients, and tourists, thereby enhancing transportation options for everyone visiting the Provincial Capitol.

He said  Governor Gambito considers this project highly beneficial for Novo Vizcayanos as the  ongoing improvements include the construction of pathways and roads that will ensure easy access for carts and cars.

“This enhanced accessibility will be particularly beneficial  for elders, Persons With Disabilities (PWDs), pregnant women, employees, and clients, facilitating smooth and convenient travel within the Provincial Capitol compound.

The project is being reinforced with the operation of two Shuttle cars for government employees and clients of all ages to ease their burden in transacting business in various government offices within the Provincial Capitol.

Governor Gambito said these initiatives are part of his intention to restore the image and develop the Provincial Capitol Compound to become the 'Luneta of the North'.

The Calderon lot or Compound  was acquired by the provincial government in the previous years as part of its expansion of the Provincial Capitol as government center in Nueva Vizcaya. (With reports from SPES grantees Raquel Rosero, John Ringor, BME PIA NVizcaya)
