OCD Administrator cites  Cordillera DRRM stakeholders for  their commitment

BAGUIO CITY (PIA) - - Office of Civil Defense Administrator and National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council(NDRRMC) Executive Director Ariel Nepomuceno expressed gratitude to the DRRM stakeholders in Cordillera  for their committed work accomplishments and  encouraged them to  further their collaboration in ensuring safer and disaster resilient communities.

 Nepomuceno was the guest of honor and speaker during the   Incident Management Capability Demonstration at the Melvin Jones Grandstand and Football Field here  on July 14 in observance of National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) 2023.

“I am very thankful I am invited here, so I can personally thank you, acknowledged the big sacrifice that you are doing and the big sacrifice that you are willing to do. For your willingness to be trained, for your willingness to serve. Hindi madali ang trabaho nyo,” Nepumocino said.

 “The obligations and responsibilities of the OCD will only be successful with people like you and of course,  with our partners in the private sector. We can only do our job, successfully deliver our mission if we will be synchronized, coordinated and harmonized on all of our efforts. So, we are doing are best to provide you with the necessary training, to provide you with the necessary equipment,” he added.

The Cordillera Regional DRRMC  organized the   Incident Management Capability event  that featured demonstration of incident management and functional drills on emergency scenarios such as fire, collapse structure and search and rescue, among others as the highlight  the NDRM 2023 observance in Cordillera. 

 

CRDRRMC member agencies also set up exhibit booths where incident management resources/equipment were displayed for the viewing public.

CRDRRMC Chairperson and OCD – CAR Regional Director outlined that the event aimed  to showcase the Cordillera incident management capability using the Incident Command System through a functional drill, and to display the incident management resources of different organizations, local governments, agencies and groups through an exhibit.

 “We hope that this activity will inspire our stakeholders to not only formulate plans for the sake of having one, know DRRM concepts not only for additional knowledge, but to be inspired to actualize these plans and knowledge into actions,” Mogol stressed.(JDP/CCD-PIA CAR)
