QUEZON CITY, (PIA) --The Southern Police District emerged as the champion in the highly competitive Civil Disturbance Management Exercises conducted by the Philippine National Police through the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) at the NCRPO Grandstand, Camp Bagong Diwa, Bicutan on July 20, 2023.
The event demonstrated the police force's exceptional skills and preparedness to ensure a peaceful and uneventful activities when His Excellency President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos, Jr delivers the SONA today July 24, 2023.
Proudly commending the participants, PNP Chief, PGEN Benjamin C. Acorda, Jr, emphasized the significance of managing civil disturbances while upholding democratic principles and individual rights. He stated, "Our role is to ensure a peaceful event for all those expressing their views and opinions."
The Quezon City Police District secured the first runner-up position, with the Special Action Force being named the second runner-up. Each winning team was presented with well-deserved trophies.
Participating units in the exercises included the Five Police Districts of NCRPO, the Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB), and the Special Action Force (SAF).
The competition comprised three stages: graded inspection, eight fundamental formation displays, and problem-based scenarios. These scenarios simulated real assailants and civil unrest situations, with evaluation based on established police operational procedures and regulations.
The CDM exercises played a crucial role in assessing the readiness and effectiveness of all NCRPO CDM units in handling civil disturbances and responding swiftly to emergencies involving various threat groups.
As the PNP remains committed to upholding peace and protecting individual rights, events like the NCRPO CDM Exercises play a vital role in ensuring the highest level of professionalism and preparedness among its ranks.
