Claimants commend MCB for organized work, fast processing of docs

MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--Claimants praised the Marawi Compensation Board (MCB) office for the organized work and quick processing of their documents in filing their claims applications.

Even before the claim application ceremony commenced on July 18, 2023, the MCB started accepting claim applications on July 4, 2023. Applications will be accepted until July 3, 2024.

Claimants who finished their scheduled appointment expressed their gratitude and praise not only to the MCB but also to the lawyers who checked their documents as they made the filing process easier and faster

"Napakaganda ng process nila dito lalo na yung mga attorneys kasi tinutulungan nila kami papaano ayusin yung papers namin para madali ang processes po. Naging mas mabilis po. Mga 10-15 minutes lang yung tagal ko sa loob [kasi] kumpleto po yung mga documents ko," said Mikunug Buga from Barangay Sabala Manao Proper.

(Their process here is excellent, especially the lawyers because they help us organize our papers easily. It was faster. I only spent 10-15 minutes inside because my documents were complete.)

Former Assemblyman of Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Yasir Naga also shared his gratitude not only to the MCB but also to the national government, saying that the monetary compensation they have longed for and waited for is finally here.

He was glad as the MCB had begun accepting claim applications, especially since he had filed for his three structural properties, namely, the commercial building, the ancestral house, and the private school property.

Although his claims will still go through screening, he hopes that he will receive the monetary compensation quickly and be among the first batch to receive it.

"I am hoping na dahil nakumpleto ko po yung requirements ay sana mapasama po ako doon sa 1 billion na budget," he said.

(I am hoping that because I've met all of the requirements, I'll be included in the P1 billion budget).

The MCB reiterated to claimants to get their appointment schedule online through the link provided on their official Facebook page or onsite at their office. (JND/PIA-10/Lanao del Sur)
