QUEZON CITY, (PIA) –First Lady Marie Louise 'Liza' Araneta Marcos led the launch the National Capital Region (NCR) leg of the Laboratoryo, Konsulta, at Gamot Para Sa Lahat or the LAB For ALL Program on July 25, 2023 at Baseco Compound, Manila.
About 1,500 target beneficiaries from Baseco availed of the services provided by the program.
The LAB For ALL program, an initiative of the First Lady, aims to bring primary healthcare services closer to Filipinos nationwide by delivering not only free laboratory testing services for a variety of diseases, but also medical check-ups, family planning services, and distribution of free medicines, among others.
PhilHealth, DSWD, and TESDA also set up booths to provide social services to the beneficiaries.
DILG Secretary Atty. Benjamin Abalos, Jr. cited the LAB For ALL initiative as a whole-of-government and whole-of-nation approach that encourages partnerships and collaboration between the government and the private sector to provide for the medical needs of the Filipino people.
Secretary Abalos added that the LAB For ALL is proof of the Marcos Administration's deep concern for the health and wellbeing of all Filipinos.
Also joining the First Lady at the event were Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Teodoro J. Herbosa, Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Chairman J. Prospero De Vera III, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Secretary Suharto T. Mangudadatu, Ph.D, Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Undersecretary Monina Josefina H.
