Antique LGUs undergo CBMS training

SAN JOSE, Antique (PIA) -- The seven municipalities in Antique who joined the roll-out for 2022 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) recently undergone a three-day statistical training to capacitate them in tabulating and analyzing data gathered under the program.

Provincial Statistics Officer Randy M. Tacogdoy, in a press release, noted that this training was intended to equip the participants from the different municipalities with data tabulation and analysis as part of the CBMS Module II.

The training on Data Tabulation and Analysis Using Descriptive Statistics was designed to develop the skill of processors in generating various types of CBMS data tabulations using the Census and Survey System (CsPro) and Microsoft Excel applications.

The participants are from the municipalities of Tobias Fornier, Belison, San Remigio, Patnongon, Culasi, Sebaste and Libertad, who participated in August and October 2022 CBMS roll-out and were able to generate CBMS data and tables that would be useful not just for presentation purposes, but also for evidenced-based planning and program implementation at the local level.

This training module was developed in collaboration with the Philippine Statistical Research and Training Institute (PSRTI), the training arm of the CBMS, as provided in Republic Act No. 11315 or the CBMS Act.

This training-workshop will be followed by another module on the uses and applications of CBMS data as well as on the management and security of CBMS databank which will be established in each municipality. (AGP/PSM/PIA Antique with reports from the PSA)
