CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga (PIA) -- Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed two multipurpose facilities in Cabanatuan City.
The infrastructures built in barangays Bagong Sikat and Zulueta now serve as venues in the delivery of health and social services.
DPWH Nueva Ecija 2nd District Engineer Elpidio Trinidad disclosed that a total of P9.6 million was allotted for the two projects.
"The new public buildings will provide locals with favorable spaces to address health issues. Additionally, the barangay hall will help enhance the delivery of various local services to the residents," Trinidad furthered.
Barangay Bagong Sikat Councilor Mario Sabado shared that prior to the establishment of the facility, they had to find spaces every time there were health programs such as distribution of medicines and vaccination drives.
“Kapag umuulan kung saan-saan kami pumupuwesto, pero ngayong mayroon na kaming health facility, dito na po namin ginaganap ang mga bigayan ng gamot at vaccination. Napakarami pong matutulungan nito, kagaya naming mga mahihirap,” Sabado said.
For his part, barangay Zulueta Punong Barangay Danilo Bernardo Tiongson Sr. said that it is an honor for him and his people to receive the structure as it would provide local services to the residents.
The projects were implemented under the agency’s Basic Infrastructure Program and funded through the 2023 national budget. (CLJD-PIA 3)
