ILOILO CITY (PIA6) -- The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) has been recognized by the Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 as the Outstanding City Police Office (Unit Awardee) in the field of Police Community Relations this year.

ICPO director Police Colonel Joeresty P. Coronica, who accepted the award on July 27, 2023, said that the recognition served as an inspiration for them to strengthen their good relationship with the community and the city government.

Community Relations (PCR) Month, which serves as an opportunity to recognize and appreciate community participation in crime prevention efforts and public safety programs facilitated by the Philippine National Police (PNP).

Meanwhile, the PRO-6 also cited six ICPO cops on July 24, 2023 for their dedication to service, citing their contribution for the successful arrest of suspects in a local murder incident.

Lieutenant Colonel Antonio Benitez Jr., chief of the ICPO City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) and the City Intelligence Unit; and Master Sergeant Lionel Marigon and Patrolman Mark Deslate, both from the Iloilo Police Station 4 were awarded the Medalya ng Kadakilaan (PNP Heroism Medal).

Captain Roque Gimeno, Senior Master Sergeant Evan John Piansay, and Patrolman Gerson Jason from the ICPO-CDEU, on the other hand, received the Medalya ng Kagalingan (PNP Medal of Merit). (AAL/JNH/PIA6 Iloilo)
