CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) - - The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) - Regional Office 2 registered a 97.6% or 1.53 million employment rate in the Cagayan Valley Region based on the latest result of the Labor Force Survey conducted in April 2023.

PSA OIC-Regional Director Engr. Girme Bayucan said Cagayan Valley has the highest employment rate followed by Cordillera Administrative Region and Region 9 with 97.3%, and Region IV-A with 97.1% rating.

Bayucan said the latest unemployment rate in the region is 1.4%  lower than the registered rate in April 2022 and 0.6% lower than the estimate in January 2023.

He said the number of unemployed individuals in April 2023 was estimated at 38,000, lower by 10 thousand persons (with no job or business) compared to the estimates three months ago, and 25 thousand persons lower than the estimates a year ago.

Meanwhile, Bayucan said that the inflation rate in the region as of June 2023 dropped to 3.6% where Cagayan Valley is third in the country with lowest inflation in the past 14 months. (OTB/MGE / PIA Isabela)
