La Union lone city's launches baking class for kids

SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union (PIA) – The City Government of San Fernando conducted Baking Class for young children, at the Creamy Cups Factory, in this city,  on July 29-30.

The two-day baking session, which is part of the city’s People’s Day, was participated in by 80 children aged 3 to 8 and aims to nurture their creativity and enhance their skills.

Originally, People’s Day for Children is one of the city's activities lined up in celebration of the children’s month in November but was moved this month.

Some young children joined the two-day baking class conducted by the City Government of San Fernando as part of the People's Day to showcase their creativity.

“This year, since it is the second year of the baking class, consists of 20 children per session, 2 sessions on July 29 and 2 sessions on July 30,” Trisha Mae D. Zafra,  head of the project of the city government, explained.

She also said the baking class helps to build a livelier and safer community for children.

“This can also aid in addressing the right to development of young children on their motor skills, and in all aspects through baking, lumalabas yung creativity nila as they craft their own cake,” she added.

Aside from that, the city government will conduct various activities in observance of the People’s Day celebration including pottery-making and Painting Classes on August 4 to 6.

Meanwhile, Janzel Fernandez, parent of a four-year old young baker who participated in the  activity, expressed her gratitude to the city government’s program.

“Napakalaking tulong ng programang ito dahil dito, matututo din ang mga bata na makipag-socialize,”she said.
