PBBM orders inventory of schools damaged by 'Egay'

QUEZON CITY, (PIA) -- President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has ordered that all public schools damaged by typhoon Egay in northern Luzon will be subjected to an inventory to determine what needs to be done before school starts this August.

Pres. Marcos said their purpose is to immediately determine the extent of the damage caused by the typhoon and to work out a way to ensure the smooth start of classes come August.

He said he will look at what remedies the government can do before school starts on August 28.

"A list of damaged school buildings that cannot be used will be made. Let's see what we can do in a month because we have one month, the entrance is August 28," said the President.

In the situation briefing given to the President in Abra, Tuguegarao City and Laoag City, typhoon Egay left a lot of damage to infrastructure and agriculture. The President also conducted an aerial inspection of the affected areas in Abra and Ilocos Norte. (PIA-NCR)
